Try to charge your iPod with sources from renewable energy, especially if it is from an off the grid location. Or, at least invest in green energy on your monthly bill (most have an option to contribute, even if they do not offer green energy directly). At the very least, avoid charging during peak hours (9am -9 pm) when electricity is in high demand. And only charge when the battery has gone dead over time for both the benefit of the battery itself and the energy savings gained.
