Kohl’s department store is now running on 100% green energy, and have the goal of reducing their greenhouse gases to net zero by the end of 2010.They are using Wind, Solar and Waste Management/Landfill gas.
It seems that indeed Kohl’s Department Stores have, indeed, still maintain there stronghold at the front of the pack. In a recent report by Forbes in April ’11, the chain is #2 on their list of America’s greenest companies, but the highest ranking department store. Kohl’s has still been running off of 100% green energy that they receive from biomass, small-hydro, solar, and wind sources. Other store chains that have made the list are Staples as well as California and Texas facilities of Walmart.
