Well, it will be the Pearl River tower when that building opens in Guangzhou this fall. It will also be the most efficient building of its size (it will be 71 stories). SOM, the architecture firm behind the design, has made it a “zero energy building”, which means that the building will put more money into the grid than it will take out of the grid.
An office tower built in Beijing was created under the guidance of NRDC and the American Chinese Coalition Organized for Responsible Development in the 21st Century. Since 2005, the building has reduced 73 percent less energy and 60 percent less water than any other office. Check out the link for more information.
