The ‘Green Wall’ is a project to prevent the Sahara Desert from spreading further south. It involves planting vegetation and trees along the Sahara. The cost will be around $3 million dollars and it is expected to take two years to complete.
The Green Wall in Africa is an attempt to halt the spread of the Sahara Desert by planting walls of vegetation. This project was first proposed 5 years ago, and is expected to take 2 years and $3 million to complete. The 37 drought-tolerant plant species that would be planted would reduce soil erosion and wind speeds, while allowing the ground to absorb more water.
