What is the green impact of the Mid Term Elections?

(I presume you are asking how the results of the election impact the green movement, rather than the environmental cost of actually holding the election). The 2010 United States midterm elections had a big impact on the green movement, especially in terms of climate policy in the US. Instead of a massive energy bill that brings an overhaul to the way energy is acquired and used, it is much more likely that compromises and deals will be made to make much smaller changes. Focus will probably also be shifted away from big green changes to embrace new, sustainable, green technology and instead focus on using technology already in place—offshore drilling and nuclear energy—but make compromises on how it is used. Overall, the midterm elections look like they were a giant step backwards in terms of the green movement in the US.
