Biofuels seem to get the most federal funding because a liquid fuel infrastructure is already in place that could seamlessly replace gasoline. Plus due to overly inflated corn subsidies, the U.S. has so much extra corn that finding a use for it makes sense. However, wind has a more promising future as an alternative energy because it requires 30 times less land that crops do.
