The Green Confidence Index (GCI) is an ongoing consumer study that measures the American consensus on environmental issues and concerns and allows green businesses to adjust products and services according to the GCI. The GCI score is based on answers from questions that measures responsibility of environmentally-vested companies, information availability to consumers, and purchases for green products. The index is compiled from data taken from a 2,500 person sample group adjusted for adjusted for specific demographics. The sample size and sampling methods are done by very respectable organizations and should be reliable.
