The human powered monorail, also called a Schweeb, recently received a $1,000,000 investment from Google. It was invented by a British english teacher who says he was tired of getting stuck in traffic during his daily commute. It requires no form of energy or power other than human. A person sits inside the pod and peddles much like one peddles on a bike but they are on a single track monorail 20 feet above the ground. The monorail can sway 70 degrees to each side while making turns and is designed to be very aerodynamic. As a result, the inventor believes they will soon be able to go 50 mph. They require as much or less energy than riding a mountain bike so all types of people can ride in them quickly.
