In my Botony class we used Darrel Vodopitch’s “Botony.” If your looking for a field guide, I recommend Roger Tory Peterson’s field guides to wildflowers, shrubs, trees, and herbs.

I took a Site Ecology course and the book our class used was “Elements of Ecology” by Thomas M. Smith and Robert Leo Smith. It discusses and explains many aspects of ecology, from plant adaptations to the environment to to ecosystem ecology. The book also provides definitions, study questions, and colorful graphics to help educate the reader. This book does not pertain to plant ecology itself, but offers great information about all categories in ecology.
