Lush body care products have numerous lines of organic products, including lotions, soaps, shampoo, scrubs, etc… They are an environmentally conscious company who have more than sales on their mind,
“* We also believe words like fresh and organic have honest meaning beyond marketing.”
The Dr. Bronner’s lotions are really great, as is the company. Much of the company’s profits are donated to eco-friendly efforts. And, of course, the brand has a great kooky environmentalist history, along with all of its tangible benefits.
Vashon Organics also has some great organic lotions. You can also check out the second link, for a list of eco-friendly lotions as well (which of course, are different from organic ones).
There are many organic lotions available on the market – just make sure that it really is organic. The USDA approved seal determines a reliable organic lotion that doesn’t market on false or non-organic ingredients.
L’occitane is a good eco-friendly brand in general, and their organic lotion is pretty good as well. The ingredients are only hamamelis, lavender, and shea butter!
I use “Everyday Shea” but I think it is a local brand. It would be good for you to go to a local health-food store and see what local organic products they have available. Many times the ingredients are really fresh and it is not mass-produced. Support your locals when you can.
