CREDO Mobile is one of the greener cell phone companies out there. They have donated approximately $10 million to organizations like Greenpeace, Rainforest Action Network and Ocean Conservancy. They were also the first mobile company to join Carbonfund.org’s CarbonFree program, a company that is committed to helping individuals and businesses lower their carbon footprint by offsetting any unnecessary usage that they can’t reduce or stop all together.
They also print their bills with soy ink on 100% recycled paper and they plant trees (100 of them to be exact) for every ton of paper they consumer during business operations.
They were recognized in 2009 for their commitment to being green by the Planning and Conservation League and voted Environmental Business of the Year.
They also offer solar-powered cell phone chargers and they work to refurbish old phones to be usable again in an effort to keep as many cell phones out of landfills as possible.
