What is the GMO/Organic cotton controversy?

In 2009, it was found that some cotton that originated in India and was marketed as “organic” actually contained genetically modified materials (GMOs).  No matter how small the trace, this should have disqualified the cotton from being labeled “organic”.  H&M is one retailer that was thought to carry garments made from the material.

You can also consider the moral dilemma for Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) as well as its environmental impact (See China link). But for a specific incident, the above answer is the most recent.
