The global warming effect refers to the rise in the temperature of the earth’s surface caused by gases in the earth’s atmosphere capturing reflected heat from the sun and reradiating the heat back to the surface again. The increased level of greenhouse gases, and most notably CO2, caused by human activities has placed more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which has resulted in the earth’s retaining more heat from solar radiation.
