Global cooling, in layman’s terms, is simply a pattern of global temperatures decreasing. The earth is constantly going through cycles of temporary warming and cooling. An extreme example of global cooling would be when the earth goes through periods known as ice ages, however it does not have to be an actual ice age for global cooling. In the 1970’s, for example, some believed that the world was going through global cooling due to a few years of decreased temperatures. Of course this theory was incorrect, because like always, the earth’s temperature bounced back.
