Boreal forests/taiga get the least amount of rain…
There are three major types of forests, classed according to latitude:

*Boreal forests (taiga) (occur in the broad belt of Eurasia and North America) — annual rainfall (primarily in the form of snow) approximately 40-100 cm

*Temperate (occur in eastern North America, northeastern Asia, and western and central Europe) — annual rainfall approximately 75-150 cm

*Tropical (occur near the equator) — annual rainfall exceeds 200 cm
