The pangolin is a very fascinating creature that lives in Asia and Africa. There are eight different species of pangolin that all fall into the genus Manis and the family Manidae. The species include Indian, Chinese, Malayan, Palawan, Cape, tree, giant, and long-tail pangolin. These gentle ant-eaters can range in size from a couple of pounds to almost 75 pounds. They burrow under ground and excellent at climbing trees.  Unfortunately, most of these different pangolin species are either endangered or near threatened as their habitats are shrinking and they face danger from predators and poaching.
