Grapes are California’s second leading commodity, right behind dairy. It is also the nation’s largest producer of Strawberries (83% of the total US crop).
California produces roughly twenty-one percent of the U.S. milk production, and over 300,000 tons of grapes each year. California also grows approximately eighty-eight percent of U.S. strawberries. In 2006, California accounted for approximately ninety-five percent of processed tomato, and Fallbrook, CA is the Avocado capital of the World.
