What frequencies can a cat detect that human ears cannot?

    • Has hearing range between 100 and 60,000 Hz.
    • Olfactory membrane about 14 sq. cm.  For comparison, humans have an olfactory membrane of about 4 sq. cm.

    To correct the aforelisted answer, the Olfactory membrane is for scent, not hearing. Cochlea is for hearing transduction. 

    A cat has a hearing range of 45 Hz-64 Khz, Compared to a humans hearing abilities of 20 Hz to 16 Khz.
