Currently Germany generates more than one third of the world’s wind energy. It has 18,685 plants generating 59,000 MegaWatts. It is the world leader in wind energy, and plans on expanding to over 200,000 MegaWatt capacity by 2014. Denmark, however, may be a small country but has a great history in wind energy. One fifth of the country’s energy demand is met with wind, and this area has noticibly less smog and pollution.
