Ford has something called a “sustainable mobility governance,” so they have committees dedicated to making their cars and company more sustainable. Their site says they are specifically focusing on fuel economy and reducing CO2. The program is headed by the VP and executive stakeholders in the company, and there are smaller teams working under them on different projects.
It is Ford’s way of creating affordable “sustainable transportation.” As of right now, they have teams for creating and developing advanced gasoline internal combustion engines, hybrid powertrains and modern clean diesels, hydrogen powered internal combustion engines, and fuel cells. For a more detailed look into Ford’s Sustainable Mobility, you can check out the 2nd link, which is a pdf by a Ford employee detailing the entire concept bit by bit.
