Fish farming is the commercial raising of ish in large tanks, usually for food usage. It is much the same as raising cattle on a farm.

The fish are raised in tanks or ponds from eggs to full size and then harvested, processed, and then brought to market for the consumer to purchase. There has been increased demand for fish and fish protein causing many worldwide fisheries to be over-fished. Fish farming offers an alternative option for consumers and helps to keep prices low by providing more fish to the market.
