The world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, has been clocked at 28 mph.
As getwithrico states, Usain Bolt has the highest recorded speed for a human running. But a recent study has proposed that theoretically humans could run at 40 mph. They studied many factors that hold humans back and were able to conclude that without these constraints (which are impossible to avoid) the top speed humans can reach is 40 mph if the muscles can move without constraint and that is the quickest they can possibly move. That makes Usain Bolt’s speed seem all the more impressive!
