According to an article on planetgreen.discovery.com, that would be wind power. Energy made from the wind quadrupled between 2000, and 2006. In the same time the US multiplied their wind power by 6.5 and Spain (at least by 2006) had enough wind power to supply 40% of the entire country’s demand.
Yup, this is confirmed in e-magazine (environmental magazine) as well. Because of federal tax credits, the real cost of wind power is getting close to such competitors as nuclear, coal and natural gas. Many companies are investing in wind technology and the article cites GE as an example. It is becoming a very large industry and has become very efficient.
