The Gobi desert in China has expanded roughly 20,000 square miles in five years. This tops even the growth of the Sahara.
Unfortunately, desertification isn’t happening in just one place. It is a global problem, especially for people in the developing world. The two regions affected most by desertification are Sub-Saharan Africa and Central Asia(India, the Stans and China). Human activity and poor soil management (over-grazing) lead to desertification.
