What is the fastest current in the ocean?

    Just this April, a team of Japanese and Australian scientists discovered the world’s fastest current, which runs underneath Antartica. It has the volume of 40 Amazon Rivers, running at 7.9 inches per second. The current carries cold, oxygen-rich water from Antartica to the deep ocean basins around the Kerguelen Plateau in the southern Indian Ocean.
