Fair trade coffee is coffee that is produced using sustainable and equitable practices. This means that the farmers who grow the coffee get paid a fair wage for their labor and may share in the profits. Additionally it means that best practices are used to minimize the ecological impact both locally and globally so that production can continue through the forseeable future without depletion or degredation of resources.
