What fabric breaks down the fastest?

    Most fabrics are made not to break down easily, so that might be hard to find.  If you’re looking for eco-friendly fabrics, trying using fabrics made from organic or hemp materials.  There’s a website entirely devoted to this subject at:

    Hemp breaks down much faster than other fabrics. Hemp is, however, three times stronger than cotton and will last much longer. But when it is eventually thrown away, it biodegrades quickly.

    Even though rayon is considered a semi-synthetic fabric, it breaks down faster than cotton. It is categorized as a semi-synthetic because it is a regenerated cellulose fiber that is made from polymers that occur naturally.
