What is an excretory system?

The excretory system “removes excess, unnecessary or dangerous materials from an organism.” It also maintains the internal stability of the cell. In humans, component organs of the excretory system include the skin, liver, rectum, and especially the kidneys. Excretion is a necessary process that rids the body of wastes, in the form of sweat and feces, which are poisonous. Without an excretory system, serious health issues would occur.
