New York State has good biking infrastructure, with bike courses throughout Westchester county as well as a bicycle Sunday in the spring where they close down a portion of the Henry Hudson parkway for bikers.
As far as outside the country, I know from experience that Barcelona has biking lanes, and in Amsterdam bikers can get around more easily and with more rights than people in cars.
A good source of information on bicycle friendly towns in the United States is the League of American Bicyclists’ “Bicycle Friendly Communities” program. What constitutes good biking infrastructure can be somewhat situation specific.
I never realized that its more of a site specific topic. I thought there were certain trends that would work everywhere.
