What exactly does “green” mean?

Technically speaking, green is a pigment created by a combination of blue and yellow. In fact, if you look up green in the dictionary, you’ll see something along these lines: “of the color between blue and yellow in the color spectrum; similar to the color of fresh grass.”

Now, I know that seems like a completely pompous and inane comment, but the reality is that that’s the only “real” definition for the term. The word is generally used in the same manner “eco” is in some other countries to describe environmentally/ecologically friendly products, policy, etc. etc. However, it has suffered from some overuse in recent years.
