What ever happened to the legal case where environmentalists sued companies that were killing bison that left protected areas in Yellowstone? Did they have to pay up?

The court said it was alright to slay Bison found outside of Yellowstone in the state of Montana. This is because some Bison were found to have the disease, brucellosis, which could spread to cattle.  No one had to pay a fine. Once an animal leaves the park, it falls under individual state law.
