Ethanol is an alternative fuel that is produced by fermenting and distilling grains such as corn, barley and wheat. There is another form of ethanol called bioethanol that is made from many types of trees and grasses, although the process is very difficult.
Ethanol is an often corn-based fuel that is gaining in use as a replacement or supplement for regular gasoline. People in favor of ethanol argue that it is produces fewer air polluting emissions than gas and can more easily be domestically produced. However, it is currently pretty expensive to produce and requires a lot of energy.
