An Environmental Survey could mean two things. In the inspection sense, it is a visual survey designed to disclose to a prospective purchaser some of the environmental risks associated with a building purchase. These risks include Asbestos, lead-based paints, radon gas, close proximity to sensitive areas and PCB-containing materials.
Or it could mean a survey or poll that’s subject concerns the environment.
I am not sure if you are talking about the environmental surveying that pertains to civil engineering, or a literal environmental survey. An environmental survey is just a series of questions that are about the environment which may effect peoples shopping attitude and consciousness of the environment.
Environmental surveying, is a process that takes place before a major development occurs. Things that are surveyed include the animals that live on the land (in order to protect endangered species), the air, water, atmosphere, and various gases that surround the area. Environmental surveying helps engineers take account for things like a river for example, to make sure that it is not effected during the development process. More can be read at the article below.
