The intended message is to remind people not to be “piggy” about energy use: it has a CFL bulb for a tail, and as a small, very cute nightlight it can be a constant reminder of the options for wise energy consumption. However, as Jaymi Heimbuch points out, it may be sending comflicting messages. Since it’s not very practically useful, it seems to use a lot of energy in manufacture and use to accomplish the goal of reminding us about responsible energy use.
