what is the environmental impact of a plastic bag in a land fill compared to an Apple laptop computer?

Plastic bags take an extraordinarily long time to biodegrade and become a threat to wildlife and ecosystems all around. Plastic bags can degrade faster when they are in contact of ultraviolet rays but still take a long time, estimated up to 500 years, and they are discarded by the general public at an alarming rate.

The laptop or computer in a landfill is primarily an issue due to the chemicals in current monitors and screens which leak into our soil and waters. According to one article, a lot of computer waste is being exported to 3rd world countries that have very little oversight on their workers and environment dealing with these chemicals. Not that the U.S.A. or other developed nations are impervious to the threat. Hope this helps!
