Since fish sauce requires lots and lots of fish to be tasty, the fish must be caught and processed. The biggest environmental impact of making fish sauce would most definitely be the catching of the fish- but this all depends on how the fish are caught. Are they caught wildly? This could negatively affect the environment by reducing the wild fish numbers. Are the fish farmed? Fish farms could pollute the water. There are a few different consequences of making fish sauce, hopefully the manufacturers are being environmentally conscious!
