Emperor of Exmoor was a red deer who lived in England which was thought to be the largest terrestrial animal in the United Kingdom. The stag weighed over 300 pounds and stood higher than 9 feet. Last year on October 26th, the Emperor of Exmoor was killed by two trophy hunters during mating season. This resulted in talk of completely banning hunting in the United Kingdom.
Apparently there has been a lot of debate over whether or not the deer was actually killed. If he was, it would have been legal, but there were several reported sightings of him after reports of the death came out. Some magazines were even publishing conflicting accounts, and I’ve had a hard time finding any definitive evidence that he was actually killed.
