The first cited page, which is admittedly promoting natural gas, says coal and oil for electricity generation are around 30-35% efficient. I have no idea if that is accurate or not, but it is fairly irrelevant as very little electricity is generated by burning oil – in the US, about 1% of electricity comes from burning oil.
