Flying in a private jet releases over four times more carbon emissions than flying commercial does.
Far, far higher than that of a commerical airliner. It depends where you’re going; in an article on New York Mayor Bloomberg’s private jet use, statistics were that a flight to Denmark for the Copenhagen summit would create 37 times more emissions than if he and his staff flew commercial. The marginal increases of CO2 emissions from additional people on commercial flights are nothing compared to the emissions “per person” created when using a private jet.
