Try changing your light bulbs from incandescent lights to compact fluorescent bulbs. Cutting shower time by a few minutes can add up, and don’t the water run while washing dishes or brushing teeth. Compost fruit and vegetable scraps or yard trimmings into rich soil. Unplug electronic devices to reduce wasted energy as many appliances still use energy even when not in use. Buying local produce is a way to minimize the amount of resources used to transport food. Rather than use a drying machine, try using a clothes line to dry clothes.
Also, try to reduce your automobile usage–take public transportation or ride a bike to work/school. Reducing your driving will reduce the amount of urban pollution precursors emitted by automobile emissions.
