One of the easiest ways to save energy is by turning off the lights when you leave a room. Also, did you know that if you unplugged unused chargers (like from your cell phone) or turned off power strips when you are not using them that you would save over $13 a year! That adds up over time!
Another good way is to plug your electronic devices into power strips. That way you can just switch them off when you’re not around to prevent trace electricity use.
Only use your dishwasher or washing machine & dryer with full loads! You end up using less electricity and less water. Turning down your water heater (just a notch) will save you $$ as well…
Set your thermostat higher in the summer and lower in the winter, and if you are going to be gone all day, set the thermostat to hold at a temperature 10 or so degrees from what you think is comfortable, and have it kick back in about a half hour or hour before you get home. Also, if you are not using one or two rooms, shut the vents and doors and don’t heat them. While programming your thermostat might not be “easy” it will help save energy and money.
Switch all of your lights to LEDs, its cheap and will pay itself off 100-fold!
