Vitamin C is water soluble unlike many other vitamins that are fat soluble. Water soluble vitamins that are not absorbed are excreted in urine. This creates few problems when excess vitamin C is taken into the body. Fat soluble vitamins that are not absorbed are stored in fat cells. This poses a problem for the liver and kidneys.
