What does the Rainforest Action Network do?

The Rainforest Action Network focuses its energies on more than just the tropics, dealing with issues affecting forests, global warming, human rights, energy, and sustainable economies. RAN is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Tokyo and Edmonton, Canada. RAN campaigns large multi-national companies to change their policies to support environmental protection and sustainability.  It does this by educating a consumer public and urging them to pressure the companies — basically get them to do the right thing by targeting their profits.  Success stories so far include Home Depot, Citigroup, Boise Cascade, and Goldman Sachs.
