What does the police force do when they find a marijuana field?

Usually the police contact a special unit that deals with cases that involve drugs. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for example has its own Domestic Cannabis Eradication or Suppression Program. Though they do not disclose details of their procedure, what they are supposed to do is destroy the marijuana field in the quickest and most efficient possible manner. Some police have simply cut through the fields with machetes while others use herbicides such as paraquat and glyphosate which are substances that are used to kill unwanted plants. Though there has been much debate about the use of herbicides since they can be toxic and the manual labor it requires can be quite expensive.
