    An oceanographer studies the oceans and all the plants and animals in the ocean. Oceanography can be separated into different branches of focus: biological oceanographers, geological oceanographers, marine scientists, and physical oceanographers are some of these branches. One major job of oceanographers is to discover gas and oil deposits.
