The Ocean Policy Task Force was created by President Obama in June 2009.  The Task Force is in charge of developing a recommendation for a national policy that will protect, maintain, and restore oceans, coastlines, and the Great Lakes.  A goal of the Task Force is to provide cost effective recommendations and policy frameworks that will improve the overall coordination across all federal agencies in the environmental field.
