To be fully sustainable as an individual is to use only materials and power sources that seek to conserve natural resources with little to no emissions and use of oil. For example, using canvas grocery bags, conserving water by taking shorter showers, and even something as simple as driving an electric car.
Being fully sustainable means we do not deplete our natural resources faster than they are replenished. This means conserving fresh water, as stores are being depleted. It also means stopping the use of fossil fuels for energy, because fossil fuels require millions of years to form and are being rapidly depleted. Instead, we need to use fully renewable sources of energy like solar, wind, and hydroelectric – these will never run out. We also need to conserve our use of certain metals and natural elements that are currently being mined too quickly.
