What does iron do for your body?

The most important job of iron in our bodies is being an vital part of hemoglobin, the stuff that makes our blood red and picked up oxygen from our lungs to carry around to the rest of our body. Without enough iron in our diets, we can’t make enough hemoglobin, and our bodies don’t get enough oxygen which can make someone sick (called anemia), or eventually even kill them.
