Grassroots involvement is driven by community members. This typically means that members of the general public within a local area give time to support or promote a certain cause. This movement is primarily orchestrated by volunteers.

Grassroots movements are usually at the local level and it is when volunteers in the community give their time to support the local party which can help lead to helping the national party. They help organize and lobby through procedures through : housing meetings, putting up posters, gathering signatures for petitions, and raising money for campaigns.

Grassroots involvement can even mean simply spreading the awareness of a certain company, event, etc. through word of mouth.  Basically, a free (and powerful) form of advertising.
