What does the “Flex Fuel” symbol on GM cars and trucks mean?

A Flex Fuel Vehicle is simply a certification issued by the government that a vehicle can run on a blend of gas and up to 85 percent ethanol. It is a certification that has been around since the 1980’s and is actually fairly common. While the car will run just as well as a gas-only car, it will typically get 20-30 percent less miles per gallon.
